I'm Jeffrey (and I make pots!)

I've been making pots since I was in college. I started out making the worst pots ever. We all do. I can remember towards the end of my first semester I made a gravy boat. It had a sculpted human nose as a spout. Gross. Since then my work has evolved a little bit.

After graduating, I made my way to the Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, where I got to combine my growing love of ceramics with my strong desire to play lawn games. In 2009 my partner (now wife) and I ventured to western Massachusetts where, with some luck, I had landed a three year apprenticeship with Mark Shapiro of Stonepool Pottery. While there I got to really dig in and learn the craft of making pots, try out new ideas, and got to know tons of other great potters.

After my apprenticeship, I returned to my home state of Maine. Eventually my wife and I bought a house in Litchfield, Maine where we slowly renovated the barn into my pottery studio. When I'm not at the wheel you can find me tending gardens or tromping through the woods and fields with my wife Ali and our two furry dogs.
